Broken?
« on: April 14, 2010, 03:04:59 PM »
I'm sorry. KakaStats is broken. No prevision for a fix.
THAT's what I get when going to the stats site.

Every criticism or suggestion from the user is a gift. Even if i disagree or don't answer. Obviously if there is real intellectual work on producing it the better.

Yes I read that .... read this: http://forums.rampantspeculation.com/showthread.php?t=6065
However when I saw the message, I was afraid you might've been hacked; did you notice the misspelling of the stats site?
Wish I could do something to help you, hopefully you will get things sorted out.

Peace

hey kakao,

I didn't even know this forum existed until now.  I did not know it existed and I was not a member of this forum.  The reason why I know about this forum now, and the reason why I am registered now, is because I searched for "I'm sorry. KakaStats is broken. No prevision for a fix." in google and stumbled across multiple threads on multiple forums describing your stats as being down.

I wanted to register here so that I can tell you how important your stats pages are.  That I am only one of many that are literally dreading the thought of your stats page not working permanently or something.  I refresh your stats every couple of hours.  I, like many, are addicted to the way you provide stats figures.  I never knew how to get a hold of you and if it weren't for this forum, I was going to do a whois on your domain to get your contact email.  All of this in an effort to thank you for all of your hard work, and to reinforce your desire to continue with kakao stats.  I look forward to your stats page working again, and I want to personally thank you for providing in my opinion, the best possible stats experience for the folding@home project.

p.s.  I noticed you've been planning some new features to your stats.  I'm not sure what new features you plan to add, but I personally would be devastated if you changed or removed the way your stats show production in the "past 24 hours" week, etc.  Your stats are unique in that way and awesome.  It is how many of us keep track of our daily average 24 hour output.  So many other stats pages do past 24 hours starting from the new day instead of an average.  I guess what I'm trying to say is, I LOVE WHAT YOU HAVE DONE WITH STATS!

Thanks so much kakao,

sincerely, ryan / mrfrankmrfrank

There are no new features planned although the web site will be rewritten. The new version is mainly a database optimization to make it possible an hourly update.
